Hobie Tiger World Championship
Raffles Marina

The Third Hobie Tiger World Championssip is unique as it the first to be held in Asia. With Sailors travelling from Far afield, the event was opened officially by the president of Singapore.

After unloading containers in intense heat over the last few days, anticipation was rife for the first day of racing today. After waiting on the sun drenched beach for the wind, one race was eventually sailed in about 6-7 Knots and 1.5 knots of tide.

Results after the first day see Enrique Figueroa and Jorge Hernandez (PUR) leading after race one, followed by Dol Camille-Olivier and Francoise Boulaire (FRA). The only real incident of the day was when Brad Sumner was penalised for a startline infraction.
