France Leads The Charge

Laser Europa Cup

French sailors lead the three fleets - Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 - at the Laser Europa Cup.

In the 105 boat standard Laser class it's an all French affair with Thomas Le Breton leading with three wins from four races. Second is Jeremie Steyaert (FRA) and third Felix Pruvot (FRA). Alan JULIE (SEY) is placed fourth, his ?? regatta since the 2004 Olympic Sailing Competition.

Great Britain's Ben Paton is second after four races completed in the Laser Radial at the Laser Europa Cup and Youth Grand Prix in Marseille. Leader of the 136 entry fleet is Solene Brain (FRA) with Gentare Volungeviciute (LTU) third. Sailing as an open fleet, Sophie DE TURCKHEIM (FRA) is fourth, and the top placed female sailor.

In the Laser 4.7 fleet Pierre OLIVON of France leads from Aymeric ARTHAUD (FRA) with Matilde FABBRI (ITA) third after four races.

With the status of an ISAF Grade 2 event for the Laser Radial and Laser Radial, women there are valuable ranking points on offer.
