This 4,078 nautical mile race from Salvador to New York has been dominated by the Jersey Clipper team, who have led the eight-strong fleet since the 15:00 hours schedule on Wednesday, 6 August.

It will now take another 4 hours for the winners to motor up the mighty Hudson to the Intrepid-Sea-Air-Space Museum. The champagne and beers await though, with Jersey Clipper expected to berth alongside USS Intrepid at 15:30 local time in New York.

The rest of the fleet remains well spread out and the next yacht, Hong Kong Clipper, was expected to cross the finish line at 07:00 local time today, Sunday, 24 August.
