Hong Kong to Vietnam Race 2004
Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club

Negotiations are under way between the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club and government officials in Vietnam to reinstate the Hong Kong to Vietnam race to be held October 2004.

This thrilling 700nm downhill race was last held in 1996 and took leading yacht, Ffree Fire, just over 3 days to complete. The race finished in Nha Trang with two inshore races attracting over 40,000 local people watching a yacht race for the first time. In 2004, Danang is the proposed finish and again with the help of local government authorities inshore races will be organised to help promote sailing in this region.

The RHKYC has vast experience in organising ocean races and it is expected that this event will attract a large international entry from countries such as Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore and Hong Kong.
