The Technical Committee commissioned by the Spanish Red Cross to assess the action needed to be taken in terms of planning, finalised their action plan at the most recent meeting in El Puerto de Santa Maria.
The finished report includes: sanitation plans, protocol involving sanitation resources, protocol for life-saving personnel, plan of action for maritime resources and technical information for preventative measures during races.
The Committee, which last convened in May 2002, has finished documenting the technical details and from this moment focuses on work in the field in areas such as:
- the availability of resources from other local Spanish Red Cross offices near the venues,
- the support and equipping of the Life-Savers at the three venues
The members of the committee will be the Heads of the Life-Saving & Rescue Services in the race areas.
