Poland and Israel Lead

Mistral Junior One Design European Championship

The first day brought almost perfect racing conditions - 15 knots and bright sunshine so a great start to racing for the biggest MJOD event to date. 22 girls and 63 boys went out to course bravo to begin the championship!

Nikki VAN RIEL (NED) and Anielle GUYADER (FRA) swopped first and second places in the first two races to head the leader board with 3 points each.

In the boys class, Kamil LEWANDOWSKI (POL) put in a faultless performance scoring two firsts with compatriot Lukasz GRODZICKI (POL) scoring a second and a third to take the second spot overall. Behind these two the picture is not so clear.

Day Two saw close racing at the top of the boys and the girls fleets Lukasz GRODZICKI (POL) climbed to the top of the leader board in the boys fleet thanks to scoring two first places. Kamil LEWANDOWSKI (POL) took a second in the first race and a ninth in the second which he thankfully used as his first discard. These two are tied on four points each with Nimrod MASHICH (ISR) and Maxime DUBOY (FRA) tied on 13 points each taking up third and fourth spot respectively!

Much the same story in the girls fleet. Maayan DAVIDOVICH (ISR) scored a perfect wo in two races today to climb to the top spot in her fleet. Nikki Van RIEL (NED) had to carry a 20% penalty in the first race of the day (12points) but recovered to take second in the last race of the day. The two are therefore tied on 5 points each. Anielle GUYADER (FRA) is just two points behind them in third.
