LIDDY Completes Round Ireland Voyage

At 0253 hours local time on Monday morning Michael LIDDY (IRL) on AFAOM.com crossed the finish line at Dun Laoghaire after leaving there 5 days, 12 hours, 11 minutes and 46 seconds earlier to break the single-handed Round Ireland record by almost two days, subject to ratification from the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC).
The current single-handed record for the 708 nm Round Ireland stands at 7 days, 10 hours, 24 minutes and 27 seconds set by Peter KEIG (GBR) on
Zeal in October 2001 at an average speed of 3.96 knots.
