LIDDY Completes Round Ireland Voyage

WSSRC Record Attempt

Dun Laoghaire, Ireland

At 0253 hours local time on Monday morning Michael LIDDY (IRL) on AFAOM.com crossed the finish line at Dun Laoghaire after leaving there 5 days, 12 hours, 11 minutes and 46 seconds earlier to break the single-handed Round Ireland record by almost two days, subject to ratification from the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC).

The current single-handed record for the 708 nm Round Ireland stands at 7 days, 10 hours, 24 minutes and 27 seconds set by Peter KEIG (GBR) on Zeal in October 2001 at an average speed of 3.96 knots.
