Following his loss to ARBUZOV, WILLIAMS drops to second overall, after he added one more victory to his points total with a win against Philipp KADELBACH (GER) yesterday. TARNACKI's four wins came against Daniel GLOMB (BRA), Simon MINOPRIO (NZL), MEISTER and crucially in the first flight of the day against World number nine Eugeniy NEUGODNIKOV (RUS), a result which lifts him above the Russian into the top three.
Below the top four there was a tightly fought contest for a top eight spot and a place in today's quarter finals. MEISTER came out best of the rest with a 4-5 record with the Kiwis MINOPRIO and JURY sixth and seventh on 3-6. The final quarter final spot went saw all three remaining competitors tied on 2-7 records, with the countback going in favour KADELBACH.
Today these eight compete in the quarter finals with the semi finals and final set for tomorrow and Sunday.
