Imperia Winter Regatta

Three wonderful races were completed in an 8-9 m/s westerly wind at the 2003 Imperia Winter Regatta. 152 boats representing seven nations competed in three classes (470, 420, L'Equipe) in the warm waters of Imperia, Italy.
Born 11 years ago and continuously developed during the years by the friendly and careful attention of the two organizing clubs (Lega Navale Italiana sez. Imperia and Porto Maurizio Yacht Club), the Imperia Winter Regatta is now a popular winter event.

A disturbed meteo of last two days allowed only one, wonderful day of racing. Three races without discarding were completed in all classes. Congratulations to the French 420 crew Bishop-Bombray, winning in fleet of 96 boats, to the Italian 470 crew Bianchi-Bianchi winning in a fleet of 30 boats, and to the Italian L'Equipe crew Amoretti-Lajolo.

The organisers extend many thanks to all those who took part to these races, coming from France, Switzerland, Croatia, Hungary, Sweden, Germany and, obviously, Italy.

A special thanks to all people involved in the event organization, the Race Committee, the Jury chairman Mr. Giorgio FORNACIARI (ITA) and Jury members Mrs Founette PAUTHIER (FRA) and Mrs Marina GELMI (from ITA), to North Sails Italy and PASTA AGNESI for their support. LNIIM and PMYC are already working for next years event, fixed for 10-12 December 2004.
