Chubb Insurance Team Racing Challenge
Dublin Bay

With more fresh winds on Dublin Bay today, overnight leaders Hamble River Sailing Club extended their advantage to win the Chubb Insurance Team Racing Challenge, beating the Storm Trisail team (USA) into second place with two races to spare.
Local interest switched overnight from the East Coast team in third place to top Irish sailor Tim Goodbody sailing with the Sigma Class Association who took the other runner-up place.

Having scored no wins on Saturday, the Ida Lewis squad managed to claim one victory yesterday at the end of their 16 race series. Their team was one of three from Newport, Rhode Island taking part in this return match of the annual Patriots Cup between teams from both sides of the Atlantic.

Patriots Cup organiser Pete Lawson paid tribute to the Sigma class association and the host clubs co-ordinated by Dun Laoghaire's Royal Alfred YC. Almost 90 sailors had travelled to Ireland this year, double any previous attendance he said, and an invitation to return would be welcomed.
