2003 North American J/24 Championship
Valle de Bravo

Twenty seven boats are competing at the J/24 North American Championships and two races were completed yesterday in moderate conditions in the Valle de Bravo. Bob HARDEN (USA) had a good first day to lead overnight.

The first race was won by Chimera skippered by Yon BELAUSTEGUIGOITA (MEX) followed by his countryman Kenneth PORTER with Bob HARDEN (USA) in third. The organising committee took advantage of the excellent conditions and got Race two underway without delay.

HARDEN added a bullet to his third position from Race One to secure himself at the top of the table ahead of BELAUSTEGUIGOITA who finished fifth. Third in Race Two was Bob INGHAM (USA) who added three points to his sixth in Race One to lie third overall after day one.

The host club, Club de Vela Valle de Bravo, has orgnised numerous social activities and racing continues today.
