Alpe Adria Sailing Tour
Trieste

Yesterday, in the waters of Trieste, it was beautiful to see the 12 Solaris 36 OD of the Alpe Adria Sailing Tour racing starting from 11 o'clock in the morning on the third day of the tour.
For the third leg of the first Alpe Adria Sailing Tour, the sailors found a nice breeze, typical of Trieste, the Bora at about 14 knots, and concluded the race with a lighter wind at about 4 knots.

The route of this race, called the San Rocco Cup, event organized by the homonymous Porto San Rocco of Muggia, was an upwind/ downwind race of about 5 nautical miles. The final results, do not, however, enter into the final classifications of the race, as it is one of the few promotional races that the Alpe Adria Sailing Tour is organizing.

It was a beautiful sunny day to race today, and it was clearly visible from the city center of Trieste. The race allowed the teams to clearly show their talents.

The winner of this event is "Scor Team" with Darko Hajdinjak at the wheel, followed by "BMW Tomic" with Peter Holmberg and finally a great result for Stefano Rizzi, who brings his team to third place with his boat "Clementei". A better result for team "Barcolana" sailed for the last time by the President of the SVBG Mauro Parladori, who came in fourth place. Fifth place for "City of Split" with Ivan Kuret's team.

An unfortunate day for the women's team of "Val Nautika" who did not finish the race due to the light winds that put them out of the time limit. The region boat "Friuli Venezia Giulia" raced well, but did not bring home a better result than eighth place. Also, unfortunate for "Magic Sailing Team" who had an anticipated start and were penalized.

Today sees the start of the leg towards Koper, a race of about 25 miles.
