The Australian team who will defend the Volvo Trophy at this year's Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship in Denmark has been announced.
The 2008 OAMPS Insurance Brokers Australian Youth Sailing Team was announced last night at a presentation ceremony attended by over 400 guests at the Frankston Art Centre.
The nine member OAMPS Insurance Brokers Australian Youth Sailing Team 2008 will go on to compete at the Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship
to be held in Aarhus, Denmark from 10-19 July 2008. The team will be defending the Volvo Trophy after being crowned the most successful nation at the 2007 Youth Worlds held in Canada in July last year.
(Team selection is subject to board approval and signing of Yachting Australia Athlete Agreement)

will defend her Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship title in the Girls' One Person Dinghy event, sailed in the Laser Radial. Hannah NATTRAS

also stood in the podium in Canada, winning the bronze medal in the Girls' Two Person Dinghy 29er event, a feat equalled by Jason WATERHOUSE
, who helmed the Australian multihull to third place overall. Whereas WATERHOUSE lined up with Michael MCCORMICK
in 2007, in Denmark he will be crewed by his cousin, Lisa DARMANIN
Mayor of Frankston, Councilor Alistair WARDLE was in attendance and commented, "I hope Frankston left you with wonderful memories and that you have forged friendships which will last you a lifetime."
