Tempest World Championship 2005
Lake Attersee, Austria

The Tempest World Championship concluded on Lake Attersee, Austria over the weekend and it was Christian SCHÄFER and Frank WEIGELT (GER) who won the title with a day to spare.
Hosted by the Segelclub Kammersee, the Tempest World Championship welcomed 44 crews from six nations. Seven races were completed between 10 and 17 September and the German team of SCHÄFER and WEIGELT had victory sewn up before the final day. Winning four of the first six races they knew they could not be caught and were able to sit back and watch whilst Philippe BOITE and Fabrice TOUPET (FRA) took the silver medal and Rolf BÄHR and Christian SPRANGER (GER) won the bronze.
