Topcat K1 World Championship 2005
Lake Garda, Italy

Lake Garda in northern Italy proved to be the ideal location for the inaugural Topcat K1 World Championship with sunny weather and winds from four to six beaufort throughout. Australia's Andrew LANDENBURGER and Felix EGNER took advantage of the perfect conditions, winning seven of the ten races to take victory and the World title by a clear margin.
In a tight battle for second place Roberto CASADEI and Andreas BROLLI (ITA) secured second place in the final race to take the silver medal ahead of Austria's Michi and Berni SEIDL.

Andreas SCHWERLA, President of the Topcat K1 Class Association was very content, 'Very good conditions, a high sporting level and very motivated sailors - the first Topcat K1 World Championship has been a great success for sailors and organizers.'
