Sopot Match Race 2005
Sopot, Poland

The Semi-finals of the ISAF Grade 1 Sopot Match Race were sailed yesterday in Poland and it was Eugene NEUGODNIKOV (RUS) and Ian WILLIAMS (GBR) who will square off in the final today.
NEUGODNIKOV did not have the start he would have liked to his semi-final match agains Stefan MEISTER (GER), losing the first two matches and giving himself a big challenge to make the final. He did however rise to the occasion winning the next three matches to claim his place.

WILLIAMS did not make it easy for himself either. After winning the first two matches agains Laurie JURY (NZL), WILLIAMS succumbed in the next two to make it an all important fifth match, which he went on to win.

The final will take place today, Sunday 4 September and JURY and MEISTER will battle it out for third and fourth place.
