Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championships

The US and New Zealand have selected their teams for the 2002 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championships, that are scheduled for July 18-27 in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada.

US Team

2002 U.S. Youth World Team: The eight members of the 2002 U.S. Youth World Team have been selected by US Sailing based on their results at various events this year.

Girls Single Handed: Paige Railey
Girls Boardsailing: Ericka Kofkin
Boys Boardsailing: Philip Muller
Girls Double Handed: Molly Carapiet and Mallory McCollum
Boys Double Handed: Alex Bernal and Tedd White

Boys Singlehanded: Will be determined at the 2002 U.S. Youth Championship, scheduled for June 21-27, 2002 at San Diego Yacht Club, San Diego, California, in Lasers.

New Zealand Team

Selection of the Yachting New Zealand Youth Team was based on results from the recent Youth Nationals Regatta sailed at Taupo over Easter Weekend and performances to date.

Girls Single Handed: Kate O'Brien
Boys Single Handed: Michael Bullot
Girls Boardsailing: Anna Eason
Boys Boardsailing: Thomas Ashley
Girls Double Handed: Rachel O'Brien and Kelly Riechelmann
Boys Double Handed: Geoff Woolley and Mark Overington
