Yngling Stolen From New Zealand Team In Italy
Whilst en route from Switzerland to Athens for the 2002 Test Event the Yngling belonging to the New Zealand team of Sharon Ferris and crew was stolen. There follows a message from Sharon seeking help in locating the boat.
"We, which means Sharon Ferris and her team from New Zealand are missing our boat- our YNGLING HAS BEEN STOLEN...
We just want to inform you that it was stolen on our way from Switzerland to Athens, actually it happened at COMO, a town of 80.000 people, about half an hour from the Italian border.
We were on our way to Venice, going by ferry to Patras and further to the Athens Test Event, spending one night at Como.
In case you know anything about where the boat could be, please inform us as soon as possible as it is a BRAND NEW BOAT that we bought at Borresen in June this year and that we wanted to go to the Olympics with.
We will just give you some DETAILS that might help to recognise this boat:
YNGLING Yacht white, on a trailer, with a mast on top and covered by two blue boatcovers.
The trailer has two white boxes and a wheel in the front
Registration number is a danish one (yellow sign) : JL 8284
Serialnumber, stamped onto the trailer: UH 71201BB02236793
The hull serialnumber on steel plaque is: BBB031/BB 1494
The sailnumber is NZL 4
Stickers on hull: NZL 4, INSPIRATION, LINE 7, BB-sign
Stickers on both boxes: LINE 7, Donaghys, NZL 4
Sticker on boom: Donaghys
