The signing of the contract with Nautivela means 95 boats for three disciplines have been secured. This includes 40 470s for the men's two person dinghy and 30 for the women's two person dinghy events. Nautivela 420s will also be used as equipment for the Team Racing event.
Nautivela has a long lived and proven record as a boat supplier to major events and has a long-term partnership with ISAF. Most recently Nautivela supplied the 420s for the 2005 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship in Busan, Korea and they also supplied the 470s used at the last ISAF World Sailing Games in Marseille, France in 2002. 'The partnership with the experienced Nautivela team will guarantee the highest possible quality standard,' remarked Koloman WATZEK, the general manager of the World Sailing Games.

In March 2005, OeSV-Sports Director Georg FUNDAK and Helmut CZASNY, World Sailing Games Race Manager visited the Italian manufacturer and arranged with Nautivela's director Paolo PORTIGLIA (ITA) the highest quality criteria for the provided equipment so all competitors of the World Sailing Games can be sure to sail on equal highest standard boats. 'Lake Neusiedl is a great venue for the 470's, we have seen a great European championship 1993 and the unior World Championship 2003 there. I am proud that our boats were selected for the World Sailing Games 2006,' commented PORTIGLIA.
Nautivela are licensed by ISAF to build the 470, 420, Yngling and Europe.
Of the ten events at the World Sailing Games, all have equipment supplied except the skiff event. This ensures a competition in which success is won only through the sailors' skill.
The contract for the supplied equipment for the Men's Multihull event, the Hobie Tiger, was signed back in March.
