2002 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship
Lunenburg, Nova Scotia

US Sailing has announced the team that will represent the USA at the 2002 ISAF Youth Worlds
The Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC) of US SAILING, national governing body for the sport, has announced the final member of its team which will represent the USA at the 2002 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship.

Andrew Campbell (San Diego, Calif.) won the 2002 US Youth Championship earlier this week after taking the lead early in the six-day event. Campbell's third consecutive US Youth Championship win also puts him in the history books as the only sailor to earn the coveted singlehanded championship crown three times. Campbell joins seven members of the team, previously announced, who will compete in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, from July 18-27.

The 2002 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championships will offer competition in the 29er (boys and girls doublehanded), Byte (girls singlehanded), Laser (boys singlehanded), and Mistral (boys and girls boardsailing) for sailors who have not have reached their 19th birthday in 2002.

Brian Doyle will act as Team Leader. Doyle was captain of Brown's sailing team in '91-92 and was an honorable mention member of the 1992 Intercollegiate Yacht Racing Association (ICYRA) All-America Team. He has been the head sailing coach at Dartmouth College (Hanover, N.H.) since 1993. As the OSC's Youth Development Coach, a part-time position created by the OSC, Doyle is responsible for creating and coordinating a development program for advanced youth sailors in the US. Assisting Doyle will be Richard Feeney (Bristol, R.I.), who will act as coach.
