Caixa Galicia: New Leader in the IMS 500 Class

Whilst Retevision takes the lead in the IMS 600 Class.

In today's first race, one of the favourites of the fleet has improved its position in the race; we are talking about Azur de Puig of HM Cristina de Borbon. This boat has much to show, after the excellent victory in today's first race, with an advantage of more than 1 minute and 26 seconds ahead of Caixa Galicia, that came in second, and 1 minute and 27 seconds ahead of Mean Machine in third position. Codorniu of Manuel Doreste arrived in fourth place, and CAM fifth. These teams are showing a difference with the rest of the fleet.

In IMS class 600 the favourite teams fight against Retevision of Jordi Calafat that got its second triumph. The competitive Italian crewmembers of Finmek-Twin Soul got a second place followed by ONO of Iñaki Castañer. This last boat, after a third position is one of the favourites, followed by Telefonica Movistar of Pedro Campos in fourth position.

The second race started with 10-knot winds and a tight battle between the big names: BESS, Azur de Puig and Bribon of HM King Juan Carlos de Borbon. Following the leader CAM and TAU fight each other for the balanced times; HM King Juan Carlos as well as Luis Doreste have improved their handling to the maximum in order to not miss a chance. The winner of today was Caixa Galicia, which after this second regatta came the first in the balanced general.

It has been a great day for Azur de Puig, which after a second place in the second regatta, places them behind the overall leader, with only 5 points of difference with Caixa Galicia.

Among the IMS 600 fleet, Telefonica Movistar of Pedro Campos won today's last test, with the maximum difference: 2 minutes and 4 seconds before Forum Filatelico, and 2 minutes and 9 seconds before Retevision. These results put Retevision and Telefonica Movistar as the principal favourites with the permission of ONO of Iñaki Castañer.

Tomorrow Wednesday, it will take place the long race with a course of 100 miles between Palma bay, Dragonera Island, Cabrera Island and the return to the bay. The arrival of the boats it is waited for the Thursday's dawn.
