Laser Radial World Championship
Buffalo Canoe Club, Ontario

Two more races were completed in mixed conditions on the penultimate day of the Laser Radial Open and Womens World Championship at Buffalo Canoe Club, Canada.

Good results by the leading sailors and the introduction of a second discard has meant that there is no change in the overall leaders in both the male and female fleets.

With two more races scheduled for the the final day Katarzyna Szotynski from Poland needs only to score one good finish to be certain of gaining her third successive world title. Having won both races yesterday and not scoring worse than fourth only a disaster can beat her.

In the male fleet Jake Bartrom from New Zealand had the best day's racing, winning the first race and finishing fourth in the second race to move himself up to 3rd overal from 6th. Out in front Karlo Krpeljevic from Croatia had another solid day, scoring a 9th in the windier first race and an impressive first in the more difficult lighter winds of the second race. USA's Chris Ashley's 3rd place in the first race keeps him in contention as he drops his second race 10th place as his second discard.
