Mistral World Championship and Olympic Qualification Regatta
Pattaya

Finally a good northerly breeze filled in after a short delay, the first fleet to be called to the starting area today was the women.
One general recall later and they were invited to cool off whilst the men started.

Dom Tidey (GBR) and Przemyslaw Miarczynski (POL) are the big movers of the day. Tidey won the first race convincingly and put in a seventh in the second race to move up from to seventh overall overall. Miarczynski finishyed 4th in the first race and 3rd in the second to move up from 29th to 15th.

No change at the top though. Gal Fridman (ISR) and Nikos Kaklamanakis (GRE) both scored and 8th and a 2nd today so remain on top of the leader board. The world championship will be decided tomorrow. The smart money says that Gal will hold off Nikos to win his first title. Ricardo Santos (BRA) made no impression today scoring a 9th and an 11th . Something very dramatic will have to happen tomorrow to to allow him to break in to the top two.

Lise Vidal (FRA) had a big day registering a 3rd and a 1st and in the process moving above Alessandra Sensini (ITA) in the overall ranking by the slimmest of margins. Barbara Kendall (NZL) although back in the pack at the first mark in both races sailed like a true champion to climb to second in the first race and third in the second. She has increased her lead over Faustine Merret (FRA) by one point.

Tomorrow is the last day of racing. The barometer dropped today and gave us an average wind of 15 knots. Let's hope that we can finish on a high note with the same conditions
