Optimist South American Championship

Maria Pia Benavides of Peru lost her overall lead on day two of the championship with a 21st. In the second of the two races sailed but may improve her ranking when the first discard is taken after Race 7.
Best results of the day came from the top Italian visitors with Pierluigi Alessio moving into second place. Pre-race favourites Jesse Kirkland (BER) and Matheus Dellagnelo (BRA) have moved up to 11th and 12th after a poor start.
