IOC Olympic Solidarity

A number of ISAF Member National Authorities have been successful in applying for IOC Olympic Solidarity funding to deliver both national and regional Sailing Coach development programs in 2014.
The following National Sailing Federations have received IOC Olympic Solidarity funding as a result of successful applications through their National Olympic Committees (NOCs):

- Seychelles Yachting Association (SEY): National Level 1 Technical Course
- Federacion Colombiana de Vela (COL): National Level 1 Technical Course
- Fiji Yachting Association (FIJ): National Level 2 Technical Course
- South African Sailing (RSA): Regional Level 3 Technical Course
- Federação Moçambicana de la Vela e Canoagem (MOZ): National Level 2 Technical Course
- Israel Yachting Association (ISR): National Level 1 Technical Course

All ISAF Technical Courses for Coaches will deliver training in line with the guidelines of the ISAF Coaching Framework. The national Participation (Recreational sailing) and/or Performance (Competition related) coaches will be trained by Nominated Experts appointed by ISAF and, at both the start and upon completion of the practical course, will be assessed and given individual performance profiles that will help the coach and the national federation to Qualify / Certify the coaches according to their level.

The provision of a personal performance profile for each coach will also serve to further develop their competencies as described in the ISAF Coaching Framework, thus helping their continuous professional development (CPD). These competency areas are:

- Setting the Vision and Strategy
- Shaping the coaching environment
- Building relationships
- Conducting practices and structuring competition
- Reading and reacting to the field of play
- Learning and reflecting
