A Brazilian Victory For Mendes And Thiesen In The 470

It was a glorious day on Lake Garda for the 34 crews from four continents who assembled for the National Open 470 regatta.
The Brazilian crew of Geison Mendes and Gustavo Thiesen took the lead after the fourth race which they held on to right to the end with. Francesco Falcetelli and Matteo Bernard (ITA) took second place only two points close behind. Third place went to the Australian crew of Alexander Conway and Patrick Conway who didn't start in the first race this morning but made up for it later with a third and first.
Jim Asenathi and Roger Hudson (RSA) were fourth with a win in the penultimate race. Rounding up the top five was Matteo Capurro and Matteo Puppo of Italy in fifth, they had started badly on the first day but recovered on day 2 with three top five results and a race win.
