Steinlager Line 7 Cup Feeder Series

Competitors in the feeder series for the Steinlager Line 7 Regatta today had a full day's sailing, with a full eight flights completed.

At the end of the day, after Round Robin One and the first flight of Round Robin Two, Jesper Bank from Sweden leads with eight wins and Italian Paolo Cian and Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron's youth Training programme graduate, Cameron Appleton from Team New Zealand with seven wins apiece. Brits Andy Green sat on six. Sitting close of their heels is Ed Baird and Ian Walker on five wins each.

Event Director, Harold Bennett, said that the race committee had done a superb job today under Judy Salthouse's direction, to get eight flights away, leaving just another eight tomorrow to complete the double round robin.

"With the light winds yesterday, and only two races completed, we could have been behind schedule. However, the steady breeze from the South and good race management sees us back on schedule".

The wind was a steady 8 -12 knots from the South for the day.

Racing continues off the end of Hobson Wharf tomorrow, Sunday 17 March. The top four contenders will go forward to the Steinlager Line 7 Regatta, which starts on Wednesday 20 March.
