The Legacy

Olympic Games

The 5th Symposium of the International Chair in Olympism was devoted to The Legacy of the Olympic Games 1984-2000.

Organised by the Olympic and Sport Studies Centre of the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the IOC Olympic Studies Centre, Lausanne, the Symposium took place from 14-16 November 2002 at the Olympic Museum, Lausanne, Switzerland.

This Symposium aimed to explore the various aspects of the Olympic Games legacy, both at the host city level and the global level. Considering the breadth and depth of this subject, the Symposium focused on the legacy of the Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000.
