Berlin Match Race
Wannsee, Germany

Mathieu Richard (FRA) held his nerve in the 21st Berlin Match Race overcoming Eric Monnin (SUI) in the final.
In the Petit Final Staffan Lindberg (FIN) met Felix Oehme (GER) with the Finnish sailor coming out on top with a 2-0 victory.

Places five to ten were confirmed the day prior with a total of 72 matches across the weekend. The Berlin Match Race, an ISAF Grade 2 event, is the oldest match race event in Germany with racing close to the shore for a wonderful spectator experience.

Sailking a B-ONE the French team confidently took victory over Oehme 3-1 in the semi final before taking the title with a 3-1 success over Monnin in the final. "We are very happy that we were able to prevail in such a strong field. We tried to dominate the race in the pre-start and we did it very well," said Richard , whose best result of second place in Berlin came ten years ago.

Staffan Lindberg lost out to Monnin in his semi final and then met Hamburg's Oehme in the battle for third place. Lindberg was confident and took the final podium spot with a 2-0 victory.
