World Ranking Leaders - 11 March

Men's RS:X

After claiming his second Men's RS:X World Championship title Nick Dempsey moves to World #1 for the first time since July 2010. The London 2012 Olympic silver medallist came from behind in Buzios, Brazil to overturn Olympic gold medallist Dorian van Rijsselberge (NED) to claim the title and the maximum 200-points towards his ranking. The Dutchman finished runner up to Dempsey in Brazil and moves up to World #4. Shahar Zubari (ISR) is World #2 and Ivan Pastor (ESP) is World #3 after strong performances in Buzios.

Women's RS:X

Flavia Tartaglini (ITA) is the only Women's RS:X sailor to count six regattas in this month's rankings and has positioned herself at the top of the rankings. However she is tied with Finland's Tuuli Petaja who counts five and finished fourth at the RS:X Worlds. 2013 Women's RS:X World Champion Lee Korzits (ISR) is World #13 as she counts just three regattas in the 12-month period.

Nacra 17

With the next appearance of the Nacra 17 at ISAF Sailing World Cup Palma, Sarah Newberry and John Casey (USA) remain at the top of the rankings following their win at ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami. Newberry and Casey will be among the 36-boat fleet in Palma and will remain World #1 in the next rankings however they will have their work cut out to repeat their performance in Miami.

Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze (BRA) are undefeated in the 49erFX and hold a perfect record as World #1 sailors with three regatta wins starting at the 49erFX North Americans, ISAF Sailing World Cup Miami and most recently the 49erFX Mid Winter Regatta. Alex Maloney and Molly Meech (NZL), World #2, also hold a perfect record with 200-point and 100-point regatta victories to their name. The two will come head-to-head in Palma in a 36-boat fleet.

Tobias Schadewaldt and Hannes Baumann (GER) and Allan Norregaard and Anders Thomsen (DEN) remain World #1 and #2 in the 49er rankings. Following their victory at Andalusian Olympic Week, Mathieu Frei and Yann Rocherieux (FRA) move up one place to World #3. Runners up Julien D'ortoli and Noe Delpech (FRA) climb to World #4.

Brendan Casey (AUS), Caleb Paine (USA) and Greg Douglas (CAN) retain the top three spots in the Finn class, however there has been movement behind the top three. After the Semaine Internationale De Cannes, regatta winner Eduard Skornyakov (RUS) moves to World #6, a personal best. Runner-up Deniss Karpak (EST) climbs from World #7 to World #4.
Men's 470

Mat Belcher and Will Ryan (AUS) hold a perfect ranking score to comfortably sit atop of the Men's 470 rankings. There is no change in the top five ahead of a busy European schedule that may turn the tide. Onan Barreiros and Juan Curbelo (ESP) make the biggest leap in the Men's 470 rankings from World #17 to World #10 following their second place at the 50-point Andalusian Olympic Week.

Women's 470

There are no major changes in the Women's 470 rankings and Fernanda Oliveira and Ana Luiza Barbachan (BRA) remain at World #1 for another month.

Juan Ignacio Maegli's climb up the Laser rankings continues as the Guatemalan moves to World #3, his highest ranking in his career. Maegli, a two time Olympic at just 24, finished third at the 100-point Laser Midwinters East in Clearwater, USA in February and this added to solid results over the last 12 months explains his rise. Tom Burton (AUS) and Philipp Buhl (GER) sit above Maegli.

Laser Radial

Krystal Weir (AUS) remains World #1 in the Laser Radial whilst there are small shifts in position in the top 25 following the 50-point regattas, Andalusian Olympic Week and Athens Eurolymp Week.
