The Waitemata Harbour was at it's best today. With no wind for several hours, then getting up to 10 knots with light rain to cool the hot and frustrated sailors. Race One started in barely four knots of breeze and after a lot of patience waiting around Race Two finally started at 4 o'clock in 6 knots. With the breeze building, Race Three started in 10 knots .

The Organizing committee achieved the targeted three races on the first day keeping to schedule. Days like this show the commitment and dedication of the sailors, sitting around out on the water in scorching sun and unbearable heat for hours waiting for enough breeze to sail in. Typically, the forecasted southerly wind finally came in after racing was over and everyone was on the beach.
