With the course configuration modified slightly to adjust for differences in ratings between the spinnaker and non-spinnaker boats, all classes were to start together; spinnaker boats finished upwind and those sailing non-spinnaker finished downwind. As evidence of a great party the night before, only Longhorn from the Charter class was on time at the start. Racing according to plan B, in an idyllic 10 -12 knots of steady cool breeze, yachts from all classes were scored against one another in this race sponsored by ComNav.

Results of the ComNav Windward Leeward saw first place go to Rasmus, who corrected out more than two minutes ahead of the second place boat. Second, third and fourth place boats, Enzyme's, Disco Inferno's and Jomani's corrected times were within 38 seconds of one another. Although not finishing in one of the top three spots, Longhorn's performance continued to improve; she finished boat for boat and corrected in front of the only other charter boat racing, Inspiration. As in every previous race, skipper Will GROENVELD and his merry men crossed the finish line dancing and singing.

Just after the last boat finished the ComNav Windward Leeward race, the wind did a 90 degree shift and then quit completely. It took more than an hour and a half, but the LaSource Series was started in a consistent 12 -14 knots easterly breeze, which held true for the rest of the afternoon's racing.

In the racing class, Disco Inferno sailed exceptionally well taking first place in both races thus easily being awarded top honours for the day. Tied for the day in points, both finishing with a second and a third, Enzyme took second place and With Alacrity third. In the Cruising class, Jomani and Rasmus traded a first and second place with the first place awarded to Jomani. Antares placed third for the day with two third place finishes. Inspiration and Longhorn held true to form which Inspiration taking two firsts and Longhorn two seconds.

In the overall LaSource Grenada Sailing Festival there were very few surprises. Enzyme swept the racing class with five first place finishes, one second, one third and a DSQ. Whistler took second place, with Disco Inferno third. Jomami was the big winner in the Cruising class, placing first in five out of eight races and second in three. Rasmus finished the series in second place, with Talaichean II in third. Inspiration had seven first place finishes in the Charter class and ended the series with nine points, seven ahead of Longhorn.

If there are heroes at this year's Grenada Sailing Festival, it is the organizing committee, volunteers, and sponsors. The island has not fully recovered from the September 7 category five storm; many people are still rebuilding roofs and some are without electricity. Regardless, these people put on a party for thousands of local islanders and visitors to enjoy and it ended up being a celebration of rebuilding. PIS, or Post Ivan Syndrome, as locals have nicknamed all the havoc that Ivan has caused will soon be just a memory. Grenada is recovering and will be stronger than ever.
