Robert SCHEIDT with crew Bruno PRADA (BRA) placed tenth in Race 1, up from a 26 at the first windward mark.
Britain's Iain PERCY and Steve MITCHELL retired on round three with a broken mast, they were in fourth place. Peter ERZBERGER and Hans JURG-SANER (SUI) also broke their mast and retired along with six others. Winds were at 18 to 20 knots at the start with some stonger gusts and dropped slightly to 14 to 16 knots by the finish. The river was very choppy throughout the racing.
The race ended around 17.00 hs with winds blowing from E/SE 130° at around 20/22 knts.
The Star World Championships is the first Worlds in 2005 for the 11 Olympic events, and hosts a 41 boat fleet.
