Great Britain's Rupert White and Tom Britz have set a marker ahead of the 2012 Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Worlds after they were crowned SL16 World Champions in La Baule, La Pouliguen, France.
Tristan and Corentin Trebaol (FRA) finished in second whilst 2011 ISAF Youth Worlds Champions Martin Lowy and Kim Andrade (BRA) finished third.
White claimed silver with Nicola Boniface at last year's regatta followed by a bronze at the 2011 ISAF Youth Worlds in Zadar, Croatia. "To be honest it hasn't really sunk in yet," said White. "It's still quite strange to think we are world champions but I'm sure once we pick up our gold medal at the closing ceremony tonight it will start to feel a lot more real. It's nice to win this year after narrowly missing out last year."
Eight of the 15 teams that will sail at the 2012 Four Star Pizza ISAF Youth Worlds competed in France including Lowy and Andrade who stormed to gold at Zadar 2011.
After the Brits and Brazilians the highest placed finishers of the SL16 fleet that will sail in Dublin, Ireland were Antonie Dijou and Guillaume Lecroq (FRA) who came down in 15th.
