Splash World Championship 2005
Puck, Poland

Yesterday at 1900 local time yesterday the opening ceremony for the Splash World Championship in Puck, Poland launched the event for 2005.
Representatives from the Puck and Bydgoszcz city board and the Polish Yachting Association joined the coaches, the competitors and their families for the ceremony. The Championship was opened by the President of the Splash Class Association, Ad ALBERTS.

108 Splashes are taking part in the competition with participants representing nine countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Great Britain, Poland, France, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany.

The first of ten scheduled races begins at 1200 hours local time today, with two races due per day, with the exception of the lay day on Thursday, through until the conclusion of the Championship on Saturday.
