Fantastic Sailing Conditions Made An Easy Day For The Race Committee.

470 Junior World Championship 2005

First start was given to Red group, under Oscar & Black flags, with a SW wind at 12-13 knots at the start. The wind steadily increased throughout the day, providing some exciting conditions

This was another spectacular win from the FANTELA/MARENIC. It looks that they will go like this until the end to remind us of the ten wins gained by another another Croatian team CESIC/KJUNDZJIC at the Junior World Championships last year in Riva del Garda. FANTELA was followed by SHEREMETYEV (RUS) and LEVINE (ISR).

In the second part of the first race the wind increased, as did the wave height. UKR 11 capsized and could not keep the boat upright, had outside help, and retired.

The second start of the day was given to the Green group for the 5th race. The wind had further increased. This group also started under Black flag. VASILAS (GRE) started as the most leeward boat but touched the line boat and had to make the one turn penalty just after the start. In this race BESSONOVA (RUS) was also unlucky and broke her mast. In this group victory went to DURON/DURAND(FRA) followed by PIASECKI(POL)

Race 6 was conducted under really strong wind conditions.The top names leaded in the groups, paying alot of attention to avoid any breakages before tomorrow's final.The weather forecast is for the wind to die down.

FANTELA/MARENIC (CRO) will be fighting to obtain the World title.but there is strong competition from LEVINE/AMIR (ISR), PIASECKI/PRZYBYLAK (POL) and VASILAS/MITAKKIS (GRE) together with ROSSIGNOL/BOUDGROUD (FRA).
