Rostige Kanne Regatta 2005
Lake Thoune, Switzerland

The third leg of the Swiss Star Grand Prix, the ISAF Grade 3 Rostige Kanne Regatta on Lake Thoune, Switzerland saw victory go to last year's winner Flavio MARAZZI and Anouk AUGSBURGER (SUI).
Light winds between four and eight knots prevailed throughout the five races of the event. At number ten in the ISAF World Sailing Rankings and with a fourth place in the 2004 Olympic Sailing Competition in Athens, going by the form book, MARAZZI started the event as a clear favourite. However he was pushed all the way by last year's Swiss Star Grand Prix winners Hubert MERKELBACH and Andreas FÜRER (GER), just edging the pair out by three points. Third place went to another Swiss team, Daniel STEGMEIER and Beat STEGMEIER.

The 'Rusty Can' was the third out of six regattas which form the Swiss Star Grand Prix. The next Grand Prix will be held 21-22 August in Brunnen.

Kurt SCHEIDEGGER and Markus SCHEIDEGGER (SUI) retains their overall lead of the Grand Prix after finishing eleventh.
