The women's fleet welcomes the familiar faces of past World Champions and Olympians who have not quite abandoned the class now it has been replaced by the Laser Radial as the women's one person dinghy equipment. Sari MULTALA (FIN) holds onto her lead and her series results are a clear indication of why she dominated this class for so long. Four bullets from seven races and no result worse than fourth leaves her four points clear at the top on nine points. Snapping at her heels and closing the gap after two bullets yesterday is 2004 Olympic bronze medallist Signe LIVBJERG (DEN). Sandra SANDQVIST is in third place but a siginificant 14 points behind LIVBJERG.

The men competed in gold and silver fleets for the first day yesterday. Today's winners in the gold fleet were Teemu Rantanen (FIN) and Ivan MORENO (ESP). Lasse JUHL (DEN) is still in the overall lead followed by Jakob EGE FRIIS and Kim BRAAD CARLSEN also from Denmark.

On Sunday 10 July both men and women are scheduled for two starts beginning at 12:00 local time.
