Three further races were completed yesterday, Friday, which radically affected the leaderboard, especially in the boys' fleet.
Overnight leader Jacob LUNDQVIST (SWE) had a disastrous day scoring 29,10,28 to slip to fifth and second-placed Ante BOTICA (CRO) shared his fate. Conversely Diego BOTIN of Spain, back in 20th overnight, had a superb day with a 1,2,3. The current leader with a reassuring 16 point lead is Akiklas DROUGAS (GRE).
The girls suffered no such upset. Emma OLJELUND (SWE) slipped up in two races and the new leader is Emily DELLENBAUGH (USA) but otherwise the same girls as yesterday remain in the hunt.
Winds were rather lighter than on the first two days, especially at the start of the first race of the day but this can scarcely explain the
difference between fortunes in the two fleets. Three further races are scheduled tomorrow to complete the 12 race series, with a further discard
available after Race 11.
The final day of racing concludes today.
