Wind Causes Havoc For Some At 49er Europeans
Up close to the action in Zadar
Italian brothers Pietro and Gianfranco Sibello came to the fore in Thursday's racing at Zadar

49er European Championship 2009
Zadar, Croatia

A clearing wind from the south with puffs to 20 knots at times caused some damage and havoc across the fleet changing the leaderboard as well.
Three races were held in Zadar, Croatia with Italians Pietro Sibello and Gianfranco Sibello sailing a 9, 2, 3 which moved them into the top position at the Europeans. Emmanuel Dyen and Stéphane Christidis (FRA) had a tough day with double-digit finishes of 15, 11, 11 dropping them to second overall.

Several teams had capsizes and broken equipment adding letters to their score and changing up the totals. Going into the last day of racing and the Medal Race, things are still open for the top three.

In the silver fleet, Dylan Fletcher and Alain Sign (GBR) lead with a 1, 1, 11 for the day, but have to keep an eye on German sailors Julian Ramm and Oliver Lewin who are coming on strong.

Racing for the finals continues on Saturday with the Medal Race held shortly after two races in the morning.
