IFDS Multihull World Championship 2005
Lake Okanagan, Kelowna, Canada

Danny MCCOY and Larry ROBINSON (CAN) are the new IFDS Multihull World Champions after the conclusion of racing on Lake Okanagan, Kelowna, Canada. They edged out defending champions, Mike and Carl STRALE (USA) in a tight finish to the Championship on Saturday.

MCCOY and ROBINSON took victory in the trapseat-equipped Hobie 16's thanks to a string of bullets and second places. The pair sailed an extremely consistent series never once dropping out of the top three places.

Five points behind them, inaugural World Champions, Mike and Carl STRALE, could not haul the Canadians back in despite an impressive second half to the Championship, in which they finished with a 1,2,1 string of places in the final three races. In third place, John MCROBERTS (CAN) and Ben CARTER (USA), finished tied on points with the STRALEs, but lost out due to their inferior number of bullets.
