Tricky Conditions In Izola
Laser 4.7 European Championship 2005
The wind was not cooperative during the whole morning, but in the afternoon the expected northwesterly wind started to kick in and racing was underway at the Laser 4.7 European Championship in Izola, Slovenia.
After the first start, the wind shifted to north, towards the big oncoming clouds. The strong northern bora wind started blowing 20 minutes into the race, with 20 knots of wind speed. Consequently the race course was moved and three different races were put on for the younger competitors.
After eight races in the Championship, Croatia's Marko SESTAN has a 14 point lead at the top. With a bullet in yesterday's final race Slovenia's Dany STANISIC moved into second place, two points ahead of Guneycan KAPTAN (TUR).
