One Nautical Mile Marks Set

WSSRC Record Attepmt

Nominee for the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award Finian MAYNARD (IVB) set the mark for the Outright One Nautical Mile Record, reaching 39.97 knots on Walvis Bay Lagoon, Namibia and Valerie GHIBAUDO (FRA) set a Women's Outright One Nautical Mile mark of 33.69 knots, both subject to ratification by the World Sailing Speed Record Council (WSSRC).

Earlier this year MAYNARD improved the 500 Metre Course record to 48.70 knots in Saintes Maries, France.
