A stable westerly wind of 5-8 m/s yesterday resulted in a relatively easy day for the race committee and there were hardly any changes of the course. Pietro and Gianfranco SIBELLO (ITA) took home two firsts and two seconds to put them at the top of the leaderboard on 10 points. Two points behind them are Stevie MORRISON and Ben RHODES (GBR) who also finished second twice yesterday bur add this to a fourth and a first.

Leaders after the first day of racing, ISAF World Ranked number one team and defending champions, Chris DRAPER and Simon HISCOCKS (GBR) have slipped to third after finishing the days races first, second, third and ninth.

The top ten is incredibly close with only ten points separating the first 12 sailors. The twelfth placed team is 2004 Olympic gold medallists Iker MARTINEZ and Xavier FERNANDEZ (ESP) and there is still much to play for.

The top 25 teams have now been allocated to the gold fleet with the rest divided between a silver (34 boats) and a bronze (33 boats) fleet.

In the 29er fleets Ed CHAPMAN and Tom PEEL (GBR) closed the gap up to Silja and Lauri LEHTINEN (FIN) so they now both have seven points with one discard. They are closely followed by Dylan FLETCHER and Nick HOLLIS (GBR), and Helle Ørum NIELSEN and Simon JENSEN (DEN) - both boats having ten points. Further down the list Mikko HENTINEN and Mikko KOTAMIES (FIN) just managed to squeeze into the Gold fleet, with only one point separating them Gregg HALL and Dick MACLEAN (GBR) in 26.

The 29ers have been split into a gold (25 boats) and silver fleet (35 boats).
