IFCA Freestyle World Championship 2005
Lake Silvaplana, Switzerland

The IFCA Freestyle World Championship 2005 concluded yesterday in Switzerland with Karin JAGGI (SUI) taking the women's title and Normen GÜNZLEIN (GER) the men's.
This was JAGGI's first world championship victory in her own country but the 15th of her career and Swiss fans had more to celebrate with Laure TREBOUX (SUI) finishing in second place.

Unfortunately, the weather gods were not kind to the male competitors on the final day in Silvaplana and no racing took place to finish their series. The positions from the penultimate day stood and it was a similar story for the German sailors as for the Swiss in the women's event. Andre PASKOWSKI came in in second place behind his countryman GÜNZLEIN with Andreas OLANDERSSON (SWE) taking the final podium place.

The results from this event also counted for the rankings of the European Freestyle Pro Tour (EFPT) and thus GÜNZLEIN also celebrated victory as winner of the tour.

The organizing committee looked back on a successful event despite the less than perfect weather conditions. Christian MÜLLER, OC-president, says: 'Despite of the partly difficult weather conditions we could successfully finish all the races. Herewith a great 'thank you' goes to all the participants, which contributed a lot to the successful holding of the Stimorol 2005.'
