LÖÖF And EKSTROM Take Second Behind PERCY And MITCHELL

Frederik LÖÖF and Anders EKSTROM (SWE) secured second place at the ISAF Grade C1 Ringhals Star European Championship in Varberg, Sweden after finishing in front of World Champions Xavier ROHART and Pascal RAMBEAU (FRA) in yesterday's final race. Iain PERCY and Steve MITCHELL (GBR) sat out the race having already secured victory and the European title with a race to spare on Thursday.
The bullet in yesterday's race went to Germany's Alexander
HAGEN and Kay FALKENTHAL, who crossed the line convincing winners ahead of Mark
MENDELBLATT and Mark STRUBE (USA), a finish that lifted the American team above Mateusz
KUSZNIEREWICZ and Dominik ZYCKI (POL) into fourth place.
LÖÖF and EKSTROM came in in third place to ensure they held on to second place overall, whilst a finish of sixth kept
ROHART and RAMBEAU in third.
LÖÖF and EKSTROM were amongst the leading boats at the first mark and easily managed to keep their position ahead of ROHART and RAMBEAU, who had to finish two positions ahead of the Swedes to reach the silver medal position.
