For Canada's 2004 Olympic representative LUTTMER it was win number two of 2005 after his victory at the ISAF Grade 2 Laser Pacific Coast Championship on Columbia River, Oregon, USA back in June. Having already climbed to 15 in the ISAF World Sailing Rankings, the Canadian will now be aiming for a top ten spot at the next Rankings' release of 5 October and will go into the ISAF Grade W Laser World Championship in Fortaleza, Brazil in September brimming with confidence.

LUTTMER ended the series as a clear winner, with a third in the final race eight securing him the title by ten points. The Canadian's consistent sailing proved to be the key with top five finishes in all eight races, and only two placings outside the top three. David WRIGHT and Trevor HAMILTON completed a Canadian top three.

ROSS was also clearly the top sailor in the female Laser Radial fleet. Three bullets in five races propelled her to a nine point win over Victoria CROWDER (CAN) with a further two points back to Magalie BONNEAU-MARCIL (CAN) in third, forming another Canadian clean sweep of the podium. For ROSS victory on home waters also looks likely to give her a good chance at a top ten spot in the ISAF World Sailing Rankings, as she lay twelfth before the competition in Kingston.
