420 Junior European Championship 2005
Riva Del Garda, Trento, Italy

Going into the final day of the 420 Junior European Championship on Lake Garda, Italy just two points separate the three leading teams. France's Thomas and Mathieu RAHIER currently head the standings, but they have Kenneth RUMBALL and David MORAN (IRL) and Richard MASON and Daniel SCHIEBER (GBR) right on their heels. Hanna MILLS and Peggy WEBSTER (GBR) lie seventh overall and are the leading girls team.
A sunny and windy the penultimate day's racing in the 420 Junior European Championship saw the Race Committee give the warning signal at 1300 hours local time.

The Ora wind blew regularly yesterday morning at 13-15 knots, giving the chance of the first starting signal at 1330. The gold fleet (the first 54 crews after qualifying series) begun and were followed a few minutes later by the silver fleet.

The RAHIER brother hold the lead despite a bad finish to the day going OCS in race nine and finishing 27th in the following race. Ireland's RUMBALL and MORAN are now just a single point behind the leaders after a sixth, a fourth and a bullet yesterday. After finishes of 15,5,9 MASON and SCHIEBER are still right amongst the hunt for medals, one point behind RUMBALL and MORAN.

MILLS and WEBSTER scored a bullet in yesterday's first race, slipped to 25th in race nine before confirming their leading girls status with a forth in the final race.

The final two races of the Championship are scheduled for today with the crews due on the water at 1200.
