Cadet World Championship

Race 3 started at 10:00 with 18 knots breeze in a north-easterly direction with lightning out to sea. The offshore wind made the sea state calm. At the first windward mark GBR 9034 (S Videlo) was 1st, GBR 8561 (T Makey) 2nd (subsequently found to be OCS), Arg 8060 3rd & GBR 8420 (J Green) 4th. Wind dropped to 4mph.

2nd ARG 8071
3rd GBR 8997 (D Brewer)
4th GBR 8420

Race 4 initial postponement followed by general recall and individual recall which resulted in GBR 8997 being OCS. NE 12 knot wind with huge wind shifts during race favouring tail enders.

3rd BEL 9453
4th GBR 8561

Race 5 followed lunch break, sea mist and squalls. At 16:53 within 1 minute gun general postponement. At 17:06 race underway followed by general recall at 17:13. At 17:32 start with another general recall. Finally race underway at 17:40 with first black flag start of the championships. GBR 8420 leading British boat finished 14th but subsequently lost protest to Argentinian.

Day 5:

10:00am sailing delayed due to strong wind and large seas with latest start time 14:00.
