Initial Allocation of UD-18 - Application Deadline 6 January 2006

2008 Paralympic Sailing Competition

In November 2005, IFDS selected the UD-18 as the equipment for the new two-person keelboat event at the 2008 Paralympic Sailing Competition. On 20 December 2005, IFDS advised RNA's of the process for the allocation of the first boats off the production line and reminded RNA's that applications for the initial allocation of equipment should be received by the deadline on 6 January 2006.

Allocation of Equipment

Based on current participation, country size, and expressed interest, the IFDS has determined the following allocation of the first 35 boats.

If a country would like to confirm their allocation of equipment, the RNA should return the online form to IFDS endorsing the purchase of the assigned number of boats. Forms will be due on or before 6 January 2006. Any remaining boats after 6 January 2006 may be reallocated for countries requesting more than their initial allocation or countries not on the initial allocation list. Countries must be full members of IFDS to be eligible for this first round of boat distribution.

After submitting the form, IFDS will send RNAs an acceptance letter including bank transfer details so a deposit can be made, and the amount of the deposit which will be approximately 50% of the boat price. To maintain priority status in the first distribution of boats, deposits will be due by the deadline specified in the acceptance letter.
